This revolutionary method for treating pain in the locomotory system was developed by Stephen Typaldos D.O., and is an independent diagnostic and therapeutic concept, which combines osteopathy and orthopaedics.
Injuries and trauma lead to changes in the fascial structures of the musculo-skeletal apparatus (fascial distortions), which in turn may cause many problems. Typaldos discovered a recurring pattern in the body language of his patients and in how they described their pain and associated this with six fascial distortions. These are then corrected using specific treatment techniques. Fasciae are the only system that go through the entire body and consequently can bring about a multitude of problems in different areas. After the injury mechanisms and body language of the patient have been incorporated in the medical findings, manual techniques can be used to identify and correct fascial distortions, so that after the treatment a significant improvement, greater stability, and often even complete freedom from pain can be achieved.
